1. SUPPORT TO EDUCATION:
– Supporting partially, studies of 38 students in a private school
– Supporting partially, studies of 11 students in a private school
– Supporting fully, study of 1 student in a private school
– We provide these slum children free books, stationary and pay their school tuition fee partially
– Those who have completed their school successfully or could not focus on studies because of financial/family reasons, we offer them private courses as per his/her capacity and interest so that he/she can finally find a job and win in life.
2. FREE COACHING CENTRE:
A Free Coaching Centre has been set up outside the slum in 2013-14 to provide the students an ambience different from the slum, wherein; they can study and grow themselves to compete with mainstream children.
In year 2015-16, we continue to support education of about 65 students through this “Free Coaching Centre” by different ways:
(i) In Free Coaching Centre, students are given English, Maths, Science, General Awareness and Computer classes.
(ii) An expert teacher of Maths is also appointed to give Maths classes to children from 5th to 12th class.
(iii) A small library is created, wherein useful books and stationary materials are kept for the children. Children can issue books and carry them at home for reading.
(iv) A Mentor-Mentee Programme is in place in Free Coaching Centre, in which senior children are assigned as “Mentor” to 2-3 junior children as “Mentee”. Thus, the senior children held responsible for the learning and growth of 2-3 juniors. This helps both ways, sense of responsibility to senior children and active support for junior children. Children study together and learn from each other.
(v) In Free Coaching Centre, students who have completed their school successfully; or even those who had to quiet their studies because of financial/family reasons, we offer them private courses as per his/her capacity and interest so that, he/she can finally find a job.
(vi) We help in finding a job for our students.
(vii) Here students are not only taught but followed constantly.
3. FUN ACTIVITIES:
Considering the importance of Fun Activities, to release pressure from the tiny little shoulders of children, and to motivate children we organise painting, music, arts & crafts competition. Small outings with children (picnic, playing cricket, etc…) are also organised time to time.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
Uplifting educational standard for slum children is the first priority of Mauricette Child Education Development Foundation.
In order to fulfil this objective, Mauricette Child Education Development Foundation is partially supporting education of slum children from nursery to 5th standard in private school.
We provide the slum children free books, stationary and pay their school tuition fee partially.
At the same time, realising the needs of higher study for slum children, we are fully supporting studies of 4 students in Graduation from Correspondence.
Understanding the need of technical studies, we also encourage our children to choose technical studies and help them in technical institutions like ITI, Polytechnique and othe private institutes.
A part from this Mauricette Child Education Development Foundation is also running a Free Coaching Centre near Kathputli Colony Slum, Pandav Nagar to provide the slum children a better ambience to study, wherein, we help them finishing their school homework, and teach them English, Maths, Science, General Awareness and Computer. And to keep a contact with students so that their needs for a technical/academic course (other than school) can be identified and he/she can be offered such course, which shall help the student find a job finally.
